The main directions of the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Corruption is a negative phenomenon of modern society, which requires a constant systematic approach, in-depth study, prompt adoption of appropriate measures. Given that corruption impedes the process of social and economic development, building a market economy, attracting investment, the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the important components of state policy, which includes a set of measures aimed at maintaining and strengthening the value system in society that reflects intolerance to corruption, the formation of an active civic stand against corruption by the individual, organization of the fight against corruption.
Programs designed to combat corruption can be adopted at the state, regional, interdepartmental, departmental or other level. The state anti-corruption program is developed by the authorized body for combating corruption with the subsequent organization of its implementation and monitoring. Anti-corruption programs of the territorial, interdepartmental, departmental and other levels are developed by state bodies, local self-government bodies, non-governmental organizations, which are charged with the development of such programs by regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On December 26, 2014, a new Anti-corruption Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025 was approved. The main directions of the state’s anti-corruption policy are: combating corruption in the public service, introducing the institution of social control, combating corruption in the quasi-public and private sectors, preventing corruption in law enforcement and judicial authorities, creating a level of anti-corruption culture, developing international cooperation on combating corruption.
At the same time, an important point is the activation of society to an irreconcilable fight against corruption. Only the joint efforts of the state and society will lead to the implementation of the main directions of anti-corruption policy and the eradication of such a negative phenomenon as corruption.
